Notes From My Training Log5-25-04 |
If you keep a running log, raise your hand. On January 31st, 1977 I started running. I have no idea why but that night I made a note in one of those desk calendars that I ran 2 miles on the track at Statesboro High after work. For over 27 years I have maintained a running log. In the glory days, I might compare my work-out schedule from year to year. If my 10K times improved, I checked what I did differently to get faster. Those days are long gone....but I find myself looking back over the last 27 years and just enjoying my notes. I've written down a number of my observations from my log. I wanted to jot down a couple of notes from each year, but that was impossible. My notes got a little longer than I had expected. You won't find any secret training tips here...I just hope you find a couple of laughs. And to the people listed below...thanks for the miles, and more importantly, thanks for the smiles I HAD THE PLEASURE OF RUNNING WITH.....A.J., Alex, Allison, Alvin, Andi, Andy, Anthony, Ben, Benji, Bill, Bob, Bobby C., Bobby J.,Boyd, Brad A., Brad R., Brian D., Brian K., Brookes, Bruce, Bubba, Bucko, Burt, Cathy, Calvin M., Calvin S., Chad, Charley, Chip M., Craig, Chris R., Chris T., Dana, Darrell, Dave D., Dave O., David R., David Ha., David Ho., David L., David M., David Y., Danielle, Dean, Debbie, Dee Dee MG., Dee S., Dee D., Dexter, D.G., Diane, Don S., Doug, Ed, Eddie S., Eddie W., Erin, Ernest, Felix, Flint, Gary H., Gary L., George D., George F., George S., Greg A., Greg C., Hillary, Jake, James B., James S., Jamie, Jason, Jay, Jeff B., Jeff F., Jeff G., Jessica H., Jim, Jimmy H., Joe, Joey, John B., John M., Jr., John K., Jo Jo, Joseph, Joyce, J.R., Katelyn, Kelvin, Kenan, Kenny, Ken, Kenton, Kevin, Kolton L., Kolton, Krissi, Larry J., Larry L., Lee, LeeRay, Leslie, Lisa, Louanne, Lyndon, Lynn, Mac, Marco, Mark, Marlo, Michael Mc., Michael S., Michael W., Michelle, Misty, Rachael, Randy, Ray, Red, Reg, Rew, Rex, Renee, Remigio, Rick, Richard, Rob N., Rob S., Robin, Sarah B., Sarah S., Scott, Soloman, Shane, Shari, Steven, Stewart, Taylor, Terry H., Terry M., Tesa, Tim F., Tim P., Tim R., Todd, Tony, Tracey, Troy, Victor, Wallace, Wesley P., Wesley W., Will, William, Willie H., Willie S., Windal.
